Welcome to Fit4Life Parkinson's, a specialized group exercise class meticulously designed for individuals living with Parkinson's disease. Our mission is to enhance your mobility, strength, and overall quality of life within a supportive and encouraging environment.
Parkinson's disease presents unique challenges, and maintaining an active lifestyle can significantly improve your physical and mental well-being. Exercise has been proven to help manage symptoms such as stiffness, balance issues, and muscle weakness. At Fit4Life, we understand these challenges and are dedicated to providing a safe and effective exercise program tailored specifically for you.
Benefits of Exercise and Parkinson's
Exercise benefits early-stage Parkinson’s by improving mobility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular health. It reduces depression, anxiety, and sleep issues, and enhances cognitive function. Neurologically, it may slow disease progression by improving dopamine efficiency and creates a rewires neural pathways. Who is it for?
Fit4Life Parkinson’s is a program designed for older adults who have been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s Disease. This includes individuals from stage 1-3 on the Hoehn & Wahr Scale.
About the Class
Our classes are led by Ashleigh, our highly experienced and dedicated exercise physiologist. Ashleigh is deeply committed to assisting individuals with Parkinson's disease in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. Each session is thoughtfully crafted with exercises that cater to the unique needs of our participants, focusing on improving balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Classes are capped at 3 participants to ensure safe exercise can be achieved.

1. Medical Clearance
Prior to participating in the group classes, it is essential to obtain medical clearance from your General Practitioner (GP). This crucial step ensures that it is safe for you to engage in physical activity and allows us to customise the exercises to meet your specific health needs.

2. Initial Consultation
Your journey with Fit4Life Parkinson's begins with a comprehensive one-on-one assessment with Ashleigh. During this initial consultation, Ashleigh will evaluate your current fitness level, discuss your personal goals, and develop a customised exercise plan tailored specifically for you.
3. Purchase a Pass
After receiving medical clearance, you can proceed to purchase a pass for the Fit4Life Parkinson's exercise classes. We offer a variety of pass options providing you with the flexibility you need.

4. Book a Class Time
With your pass in hand, you can book your spot in one of our class sessions times throughout the week. Due to high demand, availability may vary. Our friendly staff will do their best to place you in the appropriate classes. We also have a waitlist you can join if all classes are booked out.
