COVID-19 Update

Dear Community


Well, here we are again, thankfully we’ve had some practise at mastering a lockdown!

I just wanted to get in touch to reassure you that we are still open and will remain so over the 2-week lockdown period. Physiotherapy, Exercise physiology and podiatric care are considered essential services.

If you have an existing appointment coming up, your therapist will be in touch on Monday to talk you through the protocols, and if you are feeling unwell or uncomfortable coming in, we can simply change you to a Telehealth appointment instead.

If you need to book in for an appointment, contact us on 1300 16 16 88, and then the team will get you booked in for either a face-to-face or TeleHealth appointment.

All classes during this period will be held online and your therapist will be in touch to get you set up.

Lock Down Appointment Procedures:

  • Masks are mandatory at all times. (For both therapist and patient)

  • Unless assistance is required the clinic will only be open to patients.

  • Please sanitise on arrival and departure – sanitiser is provided.

  • Please check-in and check-out via the NSW Government app.

  • If you have any flu-like symptoms or have come in contact with a known Covid-19 case we will ask you to reschedule your appointment or organise a telehealth appointment (if appropriate)

Last lockdown we noticed a spike in preventable injuries and niggles during the Lockdown and straight after. Don’t become a victim of lockdown this time. Now it is even more important than ever to focus on your and your family’s health and wellbeing.

Message To You - COVID-19

We appreciate the growing concern and uneasiness that some of you may be feeling towards the COVID-19 outbreak in the Sydney region. If you are worried about whether your care can continue with us through this period, please rest assured we are still open and ready to look after you.

Being a Physiotherapy and Allied Health Clinic, we know many of you are concerned about your immune system and the medications that you are on. At the same time, many of you also rely on the services we provide to help you do the things you love to do. We take this seriously and hence, are taking steps to ensure our clinics remain as safe as possible to give you the confidence to continue coming in to receiving the treatment and advice necessary to allow you to live and feel better.

 

To protect you and our team, we are implementing the following plan. Things may of course change but at this stage, this would seem the best approach. 

  1. We have implemented an action plan to make our clinics as safe as possible. Team members not directly involved with patient care will work from home as much as possible.​​

  2. Hand hygiene and cleaning practices will continue to be emphasised to reduce the spread of any infections. Beware of the following prior to and whilst you are in our clinics:

    • Maintain hand hygiene by cleaning your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or use an alcohol based hand rub

    • Keep your hands clean:

      • Before entering an area used by other people

      • After using the bathroom

      • After coughing or sneezing

      • After eating food

    • Practice good cough/sneeze etiquette by keeping away from other people, using disposable tissues or clothing (eg. Into your elbow), disposing of the tissues and cleaning your hands afterwards

  3. As per normal practice, patients or team members who are unwell are urged to stay home.

  4. We have placed more hand sanitisers around our clinics for all to use.

  5. When coming in for exercise sessions, please make sure you bring towels. If you can, please help our practitioners wipe down equipment by using alcohol wipes or disinfectant spray.

  6. Please call us to cancel your appointment if you have travelled abroad or if you have had close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 while infectious, as you must self-isolate at home for 14 days.

  7. If you have returned from overseas within the last 14 days please reschedule your appointment as well to help reduce the risk of infection for our patients who have compromised immune systems. 

  8. If you develop respiratory symptoms or fever, please call healthdirect on 1800 022 222 and seek medical assistance.

  9. In the event of a lockdown, our physiotherapists are prepared to serve the community via Telehealth Consultations. We will be utilising Zoom.us, an online secure video conferencing software to conduct our consultations and assessments.
