1. Are Bookings Essential for Physiotherapy and Podiatry?

Yes, bookings are preferred. To be seen on time and to avoid a waiting time, an appointment would be preferred however walk in patients are most welcomed.

2. Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist or Podiatrist?

A referral from a doctor or specialist is NOT required. 

 

Medicare – For patients who are attending physiotherapy under the Enhanced Primary Care Program (EPC) or the Chronic Disease Management Program (CDM), a Doctor referral and an “EPC plan” is required upon first visit. 

 

Others – For Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), Compulsory Third Party (CTP), WorkCover, Life Time Care and Support (LTCS) clients with appropriate approval, gazzetted rates may apply. This means no out of pocket expenses for the client.

 

In general referrals are NOT required, however if one is given to you by your treating doctor it is advised that you bring it with you.

 

3. Is Bulk Billing Available?

We are not a bulk billing clinic. However we accept EPC (Enhanced Primary Care)  referrals under Medicare. In order to be covered under Medicare you must be referred by your GP under an ‘Enhanced Primary Care Plan’ also known as an ‘EPC’. Once we have confirmed that you are under the EPC plan, your will be immediately eligible for a $52.95 rebate from Medicare. 

 

Please make sure you have your EPC Management documents ready for your initial consultation. 

 

4. What is an ‘Enhanced Primary Care Plan’?

It is a Referral form under Medicare for patients with a chronic medical condition and complex care needs which you can only obtain from your GP.

Please note that not all patients are eligible under this plan. Please verify with your GP prior to attending your physiotherapy or podiatry consultation. 

 

 

5. Do you accept credit card payment?

We do accept credit card and over the phone payment. 

For your convenience, we have EFTPOS machine, which accepts Debit, VISA and Mastercards.

 

 

6. Do you accept Private Health Funds?

Yes, our practice is fitted with HICAPS and EFTPOS machines which allow on the spot claiming from participating Private Health Funds.

7 . Will there be a cancellation fee?

No cancellation fee will incur if an appointment was cancelled 24 hours prior to the appointment.

However, if an appointment was to be cancelled on the day of the booking, a cancellation fee of $50 may charged to your nominated credit or debit card depending on the extenuating circumstances. 

 

Should there be any issues regarding your appointment, please feel to call us and our friendly staff will assist you as much as they can. 

 

 

8. How long will the treatment take?

Each physiotherapy treatment may vary based on the type of injury and condition/s. However as a general guideline, physiotherapy consultations are as follows:

 

        Initial Consultations:  approx 30 to 45 min 

        Subsequent Consultation:  approx 30 min

        Extended Consultation:  approx 45 to 60 min 

 

9. What should I wear for my physiotherapy consultion?

It is highly recommended that all patients should wear clothes that allow easy access to the area of treatment. Loose clothes like gym attire, shorts and singlet’s are great.

 

If you are NOT comfortable with exposing the area of treatment, please inform the physiotherapist and special arrangements will be made for you.

 

 

10. What do I need to prepare for Physiotherapy Sessions?

Preparing for your physiotherapy session is important, as it will allow the therapist to be even more efficient in determining the right treatment plan for you. Here are a couple of things you should prepare prior to your visit.

 

  • Please bring your X-Rays, Ultrasound, Radiological Scans and reports relating to your injury for the therapist.

  • Have your documents ready (if applicable): Doctors referral, EPC Program documentation, DVA Gold Card, Workcover Certificate and insurance company information for Workcover claim.

  • Please Remember to Bring your Medicare Card (if you are an EPC patient) or Private Health Fund Card (if applicable)

 

11. How can I prepare for a Home Visit?

Preparing for your physiotherapy session is important, as it will allow the therapist to be even more efficient in determining the right treatment plan for you. Here are a couple of things you should prepare prior to your visit.

 

  • Treatment Area: if a treatment bed is required please prepare a spacious area for treatment. Our mobile physiotherapist use a standard mobile treatment bed sized at 186 cm (L) by 55 cm (W).

  • Please have your X-Rays, Ultrasound, Radiological Scans and reports relating to your injury ready for the therapist.

  • Have your documents ready (if applicable): Doctors referral, EPC Program documentation, DVA Gold Card, Workcover Certificate and insurance company information for Workcover claims

  • Towels: If you prefer to use your own towels, please have them ready for our arrival.

  • For patients with mobility issues, please let our staff assist you in preparing a treatment environment. 

 

12. Where do I park?

  • Montague Street offers 4 Hours Metered Parking

  • Llewellyn Street offers 2 Hours Unmetered Parking 

  • Disabled Access is Available via Llewellyn Street
