Introducing Telehealth

In light of recent events surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19, some of you may be choosing to self-isolate or are quarantined. However, this does not mean there has to be a disturbance or a delay to the care you have been receiving at Sydney Allied Health Group! It just means we have to think outside the box and get creative with how we deliver services to you to ensure your health is still a number one priority!

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies, such as your laptop, computer or smartphone, to access health care and exercise services at a distance to manage your health. It is an online platform that allows you to still receive specialist health care without the need to travel (i.e. from the safety of your home!)

Some of the benefits of Telehealth include:

  • Easy to set up and use

  • Improved access to health care for the patient (especially those in remote locations)

  • No travel inconvenience for the patient, family members or carers

So what do I need to set up Telehealth?

  • A computer, laptop or mobile device

  • An integrated or external microphone

  • An integrated or external camera

  • Strong, reliable internet connection

Here at Sydney Allied Health Group, we will be conducting our Telehealth services via Zoom!
