Guiding Your Recovery, Every Step of the Way
Recovering from surgery can be a challenging and often frustrating experience, especially when you're dealing with pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. Whether you’re preparing for an upcoming procedure or have recently undergone surgery, the journey to full recovery requires dedication, and personalised treatment. At Sydney Allied Health Group, we understand the physical and emotional toll that recovery can take, which is why our expert physiotherapists provide tailored pre- and post-operative rehabilitation programs to guide you every step of the way.

Following Pre and post op
Following Pre and post op there are a number of different issues that occur consequently as a result of pain, immobilisation, pre - operative preparations as well as postoperative restrictions. Joints often become stiff or swollen especially after arthroscopies and lead to joints being unable to move through their full range of movement leading to associated muscles becoming tight and weak. It is therefore important to develop a physiotherapy and rehabilitation management plan for pre and post operative surgery. The plan may involve a series of hands-on therapies with tailored exercise routines to target specific movement dysfunctions.
The rehab process continuously changes as you get stronger and more flexible from the specific rehab exercises. At Sydney Allied Health Group our Physiotherapists assess your capacity for progression rather than following a standardised approach. This means that we will have you back doing the things you love as quickly and as safely as we can, whether it be a competitive sport, a hobby or a simple activity of your daily life.

THE PROCESS
HOW TO GET STARTED
The first step towards recovery is to schedule an initial consultation with one of our experienced physiotherapists. During this consultation, we’ll assess your condition, discuss your surgery (if applicable), and understand your recovery goals. Whether you're preparing for surgery or are in the post-operative phase, we’ll customise a plan that’s right for you.
In your first session, we’ll conduct a thorough evaluation of your current condition, taking into account your surgical history, physical limitations, and any challenges you’re facing. We’ll also review your surgical notes and collaborate with your surgeon if necessary to ensure we're on the same page.
Based on the assessment, we will create a tailored rehabilitation plan designed specifically to meet your needs. This plan will include hands-on therapy, targeted exercises, and a progression schedule that adapts as you improve.
Throughout the recovery process, we will guide you through each stage of your rehabilitation. Our physiotherapists will provide consistent support and make adjustments to your plan as needed to maximise recovery. As you progress, you will begin exercises designed to increase strength, flexibility, and mobility.
We continuously monitor your progress, ensuring that you are regaining strength and functionality in a safe and efficient manner. If any setbacks arise, we will modify your plan to overcome those obstacles and keep you on track.
Once you’ve completed your post-operative rehabilitation, we’ll provide you with a maintenance plan to ensure you continue strengthening and protecting the affected area. This helps prevent future injuries and allows you to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
